Hands down one of my favorite books I read in 2019 and at the very last second! This year I discovered I am obsessed with reading books that take place internationally not in the future, past, or a dystopian world. I love it when a current time period character travels from America to Europe for example and the whole book takes place there. Extra bonus points if they are traveling internationally AND a movie set is involved!
But, I have also discovered how much I love and obsessed with books that place on a movie set or have something to do with a movie star. Growing up I have been taught a lot about movies. My dad went to film school and started to point out signs to me around our town when a movie or TV show was in town filming. This then led to my obsession with keeping my eyes open for signs and trying to figure out what the movie or show will be!
This being said, I was absolutely obsessed with the idea of Waiting for Tom Hanks and became even more obsessed once I started reading the book!! (Also became obsessed with Drew because he is from Louisiana. I mean HELLO!! I'm from La and become even MORE obsessed when Louisiana is just remotely mentioned.) Then I finished the book and immediately wanted more!!
Annie is the main character and yes while she is a flawed character I related to her so much and I highly appreciate and love her as our main character. Drew, oh Drew!! He is one you hate then fall madly in love with!! Screw Tom Hanks, I want to find my Drew Danforth!!!
I don't really have anything bad to say about Waiting for Tom Hanks other than I wish Kerry's next book in this series was about solely about Annie and Drew and not Chloe and Nick even though I loved both of those characters and will for sure be reading that when it comes out next summer as well!!
Highly highly recommend Waiting for Tom Hanks if you want a cute, addictive, quick read!!

The last 2/3’s of this book absolutely destroyed me. I will write a more finalized review once I let the story marinate with me for a while. But what I will say for now is that The Betrothed is nothing at all like The Selection. If you are a huge fan of the series like I am, please don’t go into this book with The Selection in your mind. This book has a completely different feel from The Selection and deserves to be given a chance all by itself and not compared to Kiera’s earlier works.

Ahhhh we stan this new generation of a "Harry Potter" type story! I was never one to get into HP but this Carry On is 100% my version of HP. I now want to go to Watford and be the Penelope for Simon and Baz and be a magician with them!!
I am rating this book 4.5/5 stars. While I enjoyed this book very much it honestly didn't blow me away. I do wish we had a more character-driven book. Those are typically the ones that really suck me in and take me over completely!
I now fully understand the hype everyone has for these two boys, especially Baz. While I loved Simon, I really took to Tyrannus Basilton Grimm-Pitch. He has the personality of someone who I would gravitate to IRL and want to become friends with!
I definitely need to go back to Fangirl and read the Simon Snow parts. Won't lie, when I read Fangirl I started to read Cath's fiction but got tired of it so I just skipped the rest in the book. I owe it to Baz and Simon to go back and readjust their sections!
I truly cannot wait to see what Rainbow is planning to do in Wayward Son (also I'm so glad I waited to read this the week before WS came out!! No waiting for me!!). I felt that she wrapped Carry On up with such a nice bow and this could have easily been a standalone book. There was no feeling of WHAT THAT IS IT??? WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?? or UGHHHHHH I WANT MORE!!!!! I felt so satisfied with the ending of Carry On that I am a little nervous to read WS. BUT I will!! I love my two boys too much not to 'carry on' with their series!!!

How do you write a review for a book you still don't know how you feel about?
I think I'll start with how I loved the idea of this book. This book left me confused countless amounts of times trying to figure out if this was about a real band and read people or not even though I knew it wasn't real at all. That is how well written it was. The interviews felt like they came from several different people and not just one author, and I think Taylor Jenkins Reid deserves the most prominent award for her writing of this book.
But I went into this book because of the hyper that followed it. Everyone seemed to love it, and I wanted to too. The story sounded like something I would 100% be up for, but sadly it fell short for me.
This is one book that while you're reading it, you think man, this would be SO much better told visually than written out, and I'm so glad that Reese Witherspoon is taking it on and making Daisy Jones & the Six an Amazon Video tv series! I cannot wait to see how they interpret Daisy and Billy and Camilla and Graham and Karen, etc. stories visually!
I listened to this on audiobook for three different reasons.
1. I'm in school right now and don't have time to physically read a book and can quickly get through a book on my 45-minute commute to and from school.
2. A few months ago, I tried to start reading this book and just got bored and confused. This is not a book; for me, that can only be read.
3. I had heard fantastic things about the audiobook, and I'm delighted that is how I finally got through the story.
The audiobook is like a play or something. Each person has a different actor voicing them, which makes the story flow and more entertaining. It gave each character a personality that I enjoyed!
If you have any interest in reading Daisy Jones & the Six, I will highly recommend the audiobook. It brought the story and characters to life so much more than the written word can do! I cannot wait for the tv series also!! I think it's going to be amazing!

Why haven't I read this sooner??!! Also, today I'm thankful for audiobooks because I commute to school about an hour back and forth every day and because of this I was able to finish this book by listening to it in three days!!
No, but seriously, this is hands down one of my favorite Morgan Matson books now!! I tried reading it about a year ago and just couldn't get into it. It annoyed me knowing that Sloane just up and left Emily so I never made it further than like the first chapter. Listening on audiobook helped me get passed it though forcing me to listen and I'm so glad I did!!
Morgan Matson always writes some of my favorite boy characters i.e. Clark!!! WE STAN!! And Frank was no exception! (It is always the boys that I remember from any book I read...what does that say about me? Like literally whenever I think back to a book that I read I can always remember the boy's name and never remember the girl's name...oops)
Anywayyyy as much as I did absolutely love Frank (I found myself constantly saying f***ing Frank but like in the best way possible! haha love him!!) I really enjoyed Emily as a main character as well! She didn't have that annoyingness about her that most YA lead female characters tend to have which I appreciated. I also saw myself in her a lot which always helps me when I'm reading.
Overall I absolutely adored this book and def recommend it to others to read! If you love Morgan Matson's books (I cannot wait for MM6!!!) and haven't read this one yet for some reason definitely give it a go!! Four MM books down only one more to go (until MM6 comes out!!!)!!!!

I had been looking forward to reading this book for what like three years now ever since Christine's first writing vlog, so I had a lot of expectations going into this book. With that being said, I was also scared to start reading it because I was scared I would be let down because of my high expectations.
But let me tell you I was not let down!! Again, but Better was such a fun, joyful book to read! Sincerely the perfect summer read or to read anytime!
I think my favorite part of ABB was how much I related to Shane and Babe and other aspects of the story. It was scary how much was exactly like my life. For a moment there, I thought Christine was secretly like stalking me or something that is how much I related to so many aspects of this story!!
To say the least, I thoroughly enjoyed Again, but Better so much!! Also, I know the Target edition isn't being sold anymore, but if you can get your hands on a Target edition, I highly suggest you do!! It is incredibly worth it for the annotated chapters in the back of the book, and I wish more authors would do that!!

I think I am most upset about not being able to read about Eamon anymore.
I adored this book so much! The more and more I read this story and read about the character of Iris I realized just how much I am like Iris (in the beginning/middle of the book before she changes). And you know what that makes me a little upset about myself because I could not stand reading her as a character. I can't even imagine what it must be like to interact with me in real life. Besides my revelation I had, I loved this story and its characters so much! I recommend reading this book to everyone! It is such a fun book to read and get through! I just need more Eamon!!! UGHHHH!!!
